PM Hun Sen to Attend G20 Summit and APEC Leaders’ Informal Dialogue

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has announced that Prime Minister Hun Sen, accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, DPM Prak Sokhonn, the Minister of Commerce, Pan Sorasak, the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Chea Vandeth, and other senior government officials, will be participating in the G20 Summit and the APEC Leaders’ Informal Dialogue from 15-18 November 2022.

At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, Prime Minister Hun Sen will be participating in the G20 Summit from 15-16 November in Bali, Indonesia.

Under the held under the Indonesian G20 Presidency’s theme, "Recover Together, Recover Stronger,” the Prime Minister will deliver his interventions at the Working Session I on Food and Energy Security and the Working Session II on Health, which will accentuate the importance of multilateralism and collaboration towards the goal of sustainable post-pandemic recovery.

During his stay in Bali, the Prime Minister will take part in the Informal Dinner hosted by President of France and is expected to hold bilateral meetings with some Heads of Delegation.

Following the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Hun Sen, as a Guest of the Chair, will attend the APEC Leaders’ Informal Dialogue with Guests on 18 November in Bangkok, Thailand, at the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, Prayut Chan-o-cha.

Prime Minister Hun Sen, as the 2022 ASEAN Chair, will address the opening session of the Dialogue on sustainable growth. He will also deliver his remarks at the Working Session II on "Promoting Sustainable Trade and Investment between APEC and its Trading Partners.

The Prime Minister’s intervention will contribute to enriching the discourse on sustainable growth and expanding cooperation between APEC and its external partners in line with APEC 2022's theme

of "Open. Connect. Balance.”

While attending APEC, Prime Minister Hun Sen, together with other APEC Leaders, will attend the Royal Audience with His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua of the Kingdom of Thailand, and Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana, at the Grand Palace. 

The Prime Minister will also hold a bilateral meeting with French President, Emmanuel Macron, on 18 November 2022.
